Brandon Shares Huge Life Changes After Father’s Cancer

Brandon Gibbs took to social media to share a photo from his recent outdoor trip with his parents, Ron and Betty. According to the 90 Day Fiance star, he doesn’t usually respond to negativity. However, he believes that it’s never right to have a mindset of not being close to his parents, which is something that he’s been criticized for.

Brandon also said that he was given love and support growing up. Due to this, he believes Ron and Betty deserve to be loved back. Brandon said that his love for his parents dramatically improved when his father was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, adding that he now values every minute he has with them.

In February 2022, Brandon Gibbs revealed that his father was dealing with a mysterious illness, which was later diagnosed to be a tumor that has cancer. Ron himself shared the story, saying that they learned about it in 2020 when he had a colonoscopy. He said, “Well, they did find a small tumor. It was diagnosed as cancer.”

Fortunately, Ron was a warrior and quickly recovered after his surgery. They were glad that they caught the tumor early and only did 30 days of chemotherapy. The 90 Day Fiance star continued, “I did a CT scan about 30 days after that and at this point in time, I am free and clear of any cancer thanks to my good doctors.” But he assures everyone that he’s still doing regular checkups after becoming cancer-free.

They Will Appear on 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 2

90 Day: The Last Resort is the newest spinoff in the 90DF franchise, and season 1 ended airing in late October 2023. The therapy-based show featuring wayward alumni couples was received well by fans. Season 2 was rumored to have been filmed in April 2024, so fans can likely expect a fall or winter premiere date for the show.

At this point, it’s unclear what issues Brandon and Julia have to unpack on the show, as the couple still to still be happily together today. It could have to do with Julia’s continued jealousy, Brandon’s helicopter parents, the couple’s misalignment on wanting children, or Brandon’s disdain for Julia’s desire to be a gogo dancer again. In any case, the pair joined fellow alums Sophie Sierra and Rob Warne, Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre, and Jasmine Pineda and Gino Palazzolo in the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff.

She Was Very Good To Her Pet

Julia was always devoted to her pooch, Simba, as previously mentioned. When she lost her dog, it was totally heartbreaking. The photo above says a million words. Simba’s eyes have a faraway look – the dog is close to passing away. Julia cradles him in her arms, showing the kind of love that really rings true. Julia wrote about the canine’s passing in her caption:

Run on the rainbow my boy. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I really hope I was a good mommy for you. The pain I feel cannot be expressed in words or tears. My best, beloved boy, you will always be in my heart. Thank you for being in my life! I don’t know what I will do without you. I love you with all my heart, Simba! 💔🐾

The fact that her pet is dying is shredding her emotionally. She shows her big heart by being there for Simba, just as she’s always been. Julia isn’t always the tough cookie shown onscreen – in fact, she has a very tender side, and the love for Simba definitely showcases a different facet of her complex personality.

Betty was a controversial onscreen presence in the early days of her 90DF stint. She seemed like yet another 90DF monster-in-law, committed to destroying her son’s peace of mind, one unreasonable act at a time. He wanted to sleep with Julia before their wedding – Betty made the young lovers miserable by forcing them to sleep in separate bedrooms. It was truly sad to watch the two youthful and vibrant 90DF stars pine for each other from separate bedrooms. It wasn’t just this kind of interference that made her annoying – it was her seeming insistence that Julia do some tough and dirty chores at the farm. While Julia’s an animal lover, she didn’t seem to enjoy all the chores, and in fact, played the victim onscreen. Later, she admitted that no one forced her to do anything. She chose to do the chores – 90 Day Fiancé‘s Julia could have said no.
