Beyond the Gates Preview: Leslie and Nicole Are Headed for an Explosive Showdown, and ‘Honey, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’

It’s all out in the open. Leslie blew up the entire Dupree family at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary bash on Beyond the Gates. In just three episodes, she turned their lives upside down — especially Nicole’s! She unleashed holy hell on her cheating husband, and it’s not about to stop there.
Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant joined Ambyr Michelle (Eva) and showrunner and headwriter Michele Val Jean for a talk with Entertainment Weekly about the big reveal. And don’t you worry; this this explosion is far from over.
Duplaix admitted that even as Nicole, she could understand where Leslie was coming from. “She’s hurt,” the actress told EW. “She’s a woman scorned and she got left. She raised this child by herself and they’re living paycheck to paycheck, which most women do.”
So yeah, there’s a lot of anger and frustration, not to mention a burning desire to be a part of this fabulous, wealthy, powerful family that was denied her. But that doesn’t mean Nicole’s about to roll over and let Leslie blow everything up. This is Nicole’s life and her family that’s being messed with. She’s not playing.
“Let me tell you something,” Mann-Grant laughed. “Honey, you ain’t seen nothing yet, because there is a scene down the road. She is going to let me have it! I have a feeling that everybody’s going to stand up off their couches and their chairs and cheer when they see this moment that we have together. Because she has finally had enough of me. She’s like, ‘I’m over it. And you are going down.’”
Hey, sympathy only gets you so far! Maybe if Leslie hadn’t used and manipulated her daughter and done her best to humiliate Nicole in the most public way she could, she’d be getting a bit more understanding. If she’d played her cards right, Ted would have been the only villain in the story, paying her off after cheating on his wife, trying to force an abortion on her and turning to Bill for help.
Yeah, Nicole would’ve been ticked over the cheating, but that would have been on Ted more than anyone else. But you reap what you sow. And Leslie has sown chaos, anger and revenge.
If she was feeling really vindictive, Nicole could take in Eva as a member of the family and shove Leslie out in the cold with no power, no more leverage and no contact with her daughter. Forever. Or maybe that won’t be enough since Leslie’s already turned on her daughter and locked her out of their own home.
Whatever Nicole has in store for her, we’re sure it won’t be pretty. But it is going to be a whole lot of fun to watch!
